Parquet Polishing Day by Day: What to Expect

What happens on each day of a parquet polishing job, how to prepare your home, and when you can walk on the floor and move furniture back.

Before we arrive

A typical 3-bedroom job

  1. Day 1 morning: protect walls and doorways, repair loose pieces.
  2. Day 1 afternoon: 3-stage sanding with dust extraction, then edge work.
  3. Day 2 morning: gap filling, fine sanding and sealer coat.
  4. Day 2 afternoon: first and second coats of varnish, with a light sand in between.
  5. Day 3: inspection and handover.

After the last coat

HDB renovation hours

Sanding is noisy, so we follow HDB's renovation rules and keep noisy work to the permitted hours on weekdays. We don't sand on Sundays or public holidays.
