About Rochor
Rochor takes its name from the Rochor River. In the 1800s the area grew as a trading and residential district beside the colonial town.
Little India grew around cattle trading on Serangoon Road, and Bugis was named after the Bugis traders who sailed here from Sulawesi.
Rochor Centre, with its coloured blocks, was demolished in 2016 for the North-South Corridor. Newer condos such as DUO and Midtown Modern now stand nearby.
