About Outram
Outram is named after Sir James Outram, a British general. Pearl's Hill is named after Captain James Pearl, who bought the hill in the 1820s.
People's Park Complex (1973) and Pearl Bank Apartments (1976) were landmark high-rise homes of their time. Pearl Bank was redeveloped as One Pearl Bank.
Chinatown's shophouses and HDB blocks make up most of the homes here, with a few newer condos.
