About River Valley
River Valley follows the valley of the Singapore River upstream. It was once plantations and later homes for merchants working near the river.
Great World Amusement Park opened in 1931 and closed in 1978. Great World City now stands on the site.
From the 1970s onwards apartments such as Yong An Park, Horizon Towers, Valley Park and Aspen Heights went up, followed by many newer boutique condos.
